I’m at it again: The Ultimate Blog Challenge.
A month of blogging in community, for as many days as you can.
To help me maintain focus during the challenge, I’m blogging on dating. (The link is above, by the way. I’m posting this series on my personal blog site.)
If you’re wondering where my “new theme” on dating comes from, it’s not new. I’ve actually been a dating and relationships coach for single professionals for four years (officially) now, over at Soulmate from Within. And while I can talk a lot about dating, even totally spout off on it, it’s important for me to test myself every now and then and ask, “Am I serving my market/community as best I can today?”
So 30 Days on Dating is a personal “experiment” in
- Blogging my fingers off (which could result in major sleep loss and a side experiment of “How little sleep can I run on when I’m excited and committed to something for a straight month?”)
- Committing to my peeps. I really want to do something special, just for them. My singles community is made up of really great people, and I really appreciate them.
- Niching. That is, in this case, focusing on a single subject. If you know me, you know this is a challenge for me; I am in huge awe of tangential thinking and the unpredictable and multiple-layer unfolding that takes place when there’s no agenda. (Yes, like momentarily getting lost in the forest. I LOVE those experiences!) That is, in fact, my gift when it comes to coaching: the patterns of one’s personal passion are easy to see/hear when we let go of a plan, even just for the span of a coaching session. So in this challenge, I’m taking it the other direction, hoping to discover how I can use that appreciation for “The Tangents” advantageously in a focused 30-day writing challenge.
I’ll be sharing my discoveries under the tag “Niche and Tangents” throughout this challenge. Finding unique gifts and experiences when we apply non-linear, creative thinking onto an agenda, schedule, and single-focused subject. Have you ever challenged both sides of your brain in this manner before? What have you done and discovered in finding that “perfect blend”?
